Discovering new music just got personal

Copenhagen-based music streaming service, Moodagent, brings its namesake app to the German market in November – and with it a first-of-its-kind personalization of the listening experience.

Truly personalized listening

The need for a new streaming service is explained by the company’s CMO, George Howard: "What makes Moodagent different is our values. Moodagent not only exposes listeners to artists who will become their new favorites, but – importantly – we expose artists to new listeners. We understand that we exist only because of the great art that these musicians create, and feel it is our duty and honor to help them create a meaningful connection with an ever-increasing number of new fans.”

While other streaming services offer personal recommendations, they are often based on prior listening, editorial selections, or what is topping the charts, and as a result do not create much opportunity for discovery. Moodagent’s approach is different. Patented technology analyzes each listener’s taste to create a truly personalized listening profile, resulting in unique playlists and recommendations.

Says Malte Behrens, General Manager of Moodagent Deutschland: “Music discovery shouldn’t be intimidating. It should be intuitive and adventurous. That’s why Moodagent’s interactive playlists are so phenomenal – they empower you to move beyond go-to songs and favorite artists, to where you dare to discover something genuinely exciting. We’re thrilled to bring this experience to German listeners.”

Music to suit your mood

The interactive playlists – “moodagents” – are created by adding a song or artist, which is then matched with songs similar in how they sound and feel, their musical style and qualities. If a playlist is not quite right for the moment, users can adjust a set of moodsliders – Sensual, Tender, Happy, Angry, Tempo – and watch as their playlist instantly adapts. Still based on personal taste and with the user in control. Moodagent users will also find a library for offline listening, options for social sharing, and sections with editorial recommendations and pre-built playlists for inspiration.

Moodagent is now available from Apple App Store, Google Play, and Huawei AppGallery for 9.99 Euro/month – always free of advertising. A fully functional, time-restricted free trial of Moodagent’s premium service is available when signing up.
